How hard is it to beat the Anti-Injunction Act (AIA)?
As I have already mentioned, every US expert was sure that we would have the case dismissed on the grounds of the AIA.
The AIA says that "no suit for the purpose of restraining the assessment or collection of any tax shall be maintained in any court by any person".
The Banking Association failed to get around it. Google "Florida Bankers" case written by Kavanugh. And now, a large insurance company which failed at trial and on appeal is trying to get the Supreme court to rule on it. Now you can understand what an accomplishment it is that a bunch of tiny expat business owners accomplished such a one-sided favorable opinion, all with a minimal budget and tiny law firm.
